Son....Sun Confusion
I am not sure where Ayden comes up with some of the things he says. He always keeps me laughing!! Tonight, before bedtime, Ayden and Cordell were laying on the bed talking. This is the conversation that I overheard...
Ayden: Cordell, do I have a wife?
Cordell: No Ayden, you are too little, but momma is daddy's wife, daddy is her husband, and I am the son.
Ayden: Well, if you are the son (or should that be sun??), then I guess I am the planet.
I love these kids! They sure do brighten a day!!!

It's Just Me And You Wormy........
That is what I am overhearing from the play room right now. It rained a lot last night, so this morning when we were leaving the house there were little squiggly earthworms all over the driveway. Of course, nothing would do but we catch a few. Cordell scooped up several on his way to the car. He is recovering from the flu, so I would not let him catch anymore. He is so bummed. This afternoon when we got home with Ayden, Cordell sent him out with instructions to catch as many as he could. We now have a whole cup full of worms. They are befriending and naming each and every one of them right now. A few that I have heard so far are Wormy, Wild One, Killer, and Number Seven. Oh my....My boys and their endless critters!!

JV Football vs. Bangs
For the rest of the year, the freshman and JV teams will be combined into one JV team, and Blake will be #27. They have already played several games together. Between towns that do not have freshman teams and players with failing grades, they have decided to combine into one team. Tonight, they played Bangs and came up with a 20-13 win. Way to go team!!

Soccer Season Begins
Today was the first day of soccer season. Ayden was just barely old enough to play this year, but he is loving it. He was so excited!! His first game was today, and they did great! This is such a fun age to watch!
Cordell was also supposed to have his first game today, but he woke up with a sore throat and fever. I guess it will be next Saturday when he makes his first soccer appearance.

Sometimes You Just Have To Laugh To Save Your Sanity
Tonight was one of those crazy nights around our house. Blake had football practice until about 7:15, Lyndell was working late, and I was running crazy! As soon as we got home, the boys wanted to play outside. It was already late, but I figured it would give me a few seconds to get some things done. The last words out of my mouth were, "just don't get too dirty, please!" I should have known better.

A short while later, I was carrying a basket of laundry into the laundry room , while talking on the phone to Lyndell. Ayden and Cordell, covered in mud, darted in and stuck their prize catch of a frog in my face. I dropped the laundry basket to the floor. Unfortunately it landed on the cat. Shadow, the cat, sped out leaving claw marks all across my foot. I can't exactly blame this on him though! We got a bowl and created a frog habitat. I always have a collection of various critters in my house. Right now, we have the frogs and a lizard.
I put the boys in the bath and called my mom to tell her about our crazy episode. She laughed so hard! I decided sometimes you just have to laugh to save your sanity!

Baby Bed and Big Brothers
Time Is Ticking By
I am 31 weeks along today - only 9 weeks to go! Lyndell put the baby bed together last night. We put the new bedding on. We are almost ready! It won't be long until we will have another pair of feet in our home.

The Meanest Mom Ever!
Kids say some of the funniest things! The other night at Blake's football game, Cordell informed me that I am the meanest mom ever. He was wanting to go play, and I had told him that we were there to watch the game. He needed to sit and watch. Frustrated with me, he said that I was the meanest mom ever. Then he told me "Even in my dreams at night, you tell me no!!" Poor baby can't even get a good night's sleep without his mom disrupting his fun!
Teeth Update
Ayden's teeth are still hanging in there and looking good. He is eating with them again. I think we are going to get to keep them. Yea!!

Back To School!!
Yesterday was a day of firsts for our family - first day of high school, first day of second grade, first emergency trip to a dentist. Wow what a day! Blake started high school. I can not believe how fast he has grown up. Cordell started second grade. He is growing up on me too. Ayden couldn't just go through the day without a first too. He had an accident at the babysitter's that sent him on an emergency trip to the dentist. Poor baby hit his 4 bottom front teeth and pushed them forward. Lyndell got the call at about 10:30. Since it was my first day of this school year, he did not even call me until after school when everything was all over. That was probably a good thing. I just don't know if I could have handled it. They deadened it and pushed his teeth back in place. His teeth have bigger gaps between them now. We are just crossing our fingers and praying that over the next few days the teeth won't die. He could possibly lose all 4 bottom front teeth. Thankfully, they are baby teeth, but it will be a few years before permenant teeth come in. Hopefully they will be okay.

First day of high school - too cool to smile!
First day of second grade!
First emergency trip to the dentist. You can see the gaps between his teeth. He is enjoying the diet of chocolate milkshakes though. You can see part of the last one displayed on his little face. I was nervous to even wash his face.
The picture below is for comparison. This was from last week. Notice the gaps are not nearly as big. His face is still dirty though. That seems to be Ayden's trademark. I wash that little face constantly, but before you can turn around, it is dirty again. Dirt is his best friend!!

Today he is feeling better. His mouth is rather bruised. We are just going to wait and see.
